Gabi Juba, former school district finance director, says the county withheld sales tax revenue mandated for school upgrades. The county manager says the county has more than complied with the law.
Dan, I haven’t said this often enough…..I am so glad you are doing what you do….What you put forward is invaluable ….Thank you, Thank you so…..
Great job Dan! This needs to be told to the news stations. The old saying the snake in the bush needs to be smoked out. Our kids and staff are suffering horrendously!!!!!!!
Jaw-dropping. It appears to me that Ms. Laughter does an awful lot of finger-pointing. Having served on a School Board in Tennessee many years ago I know how rife with downright ugliness it can get between the Schools and the Commission that holds the pursestrings. We had to fight every fiscal year for whatever scraps the Commission decided to give us, and their misrepresentation of how we spent the money. I cannot blame Ms. Juba for leaving a thankless job.
I am not sure that anyone outside of the local government link can understand this entire scenario without reading a line item disclosure. 3.3M here and there over 3 yrs has generated some confusion for me.
Wow. Excellent work on this, Dan!

Really appreciate it, Jude. Thanks for reading.

Laughter needs to retire. She has been running cover for corruption there for too many years.
Good article, thanks.

I tried to make it as clear as possible, but, yes, it's very complicated. No way around that, I'm afraid.
